Two Years Ago Today
The USGBC and their project partners are now engaged in a full fledged capital campaign to support the construction of the first LEED orphanage and children's center in Haiti. The orphanage will represent the best of the green building movement and will be a beacon of hope for the countless pre-and post-disaster abandoned children who will find new life and new love thanks to this project.
The USGBC Emerging Professionals Committee encourages your committee and chapter to get involved. We sent out the Project Haiti toolkit last month, and we got some great feedback! We're hoping to hear from more of you and show off your efforts on the Project Haiti blog. We set a suggested time frame of January 12-February 12, but we understand that planning a fundraiser takes time. If you cannot have an event during this window, please let us know.
Remember, as EPs, we have a unique opportunity to help USGBC with this campaign. With our connections to our communities, we can demonstrate the passion and mission-driven nature that USGBC volunteers possess across the US. Your support for this project, no matter how small, will make a great, positive impact on promoting social equity and the green building movement.

USGBC Emerging Professionals
Nearly one year after the island nation of Haiti was nearly destroyed by a catastrophic earthquake and dozens of deadly aftershocks, the children of Haiti still need our help. Thousands lost one or both parents, and they desperately need a place to go to find the most basic elements of human survival: food, shelter, healthcare, safety and, most importantly, love.
As EPs, we have a unique opportunity to help USGBC with this campaign. With our connection to our communities and our chapter leaders, we can demonstrate the passion and mission-driven nature that EPs possess across the US. EP’s support for this project, no matter how small, will make a great, positive impact on promoting social equity and the green building movement. We hope that you will get involved with your local chapter today.
Best regards,
Emerging Professionals National Committee
